A look back on 2023

Cordial had an extraordinary year of momentum and growth in 2023—134% new business growth in Q3, record-high engagement on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, being named on the Deloitte Fast 500 list for the second consecutive year, winning awards for Best CEO, Best Company Culture, and Best Companies for Women, and launching groundbreaking AI innovations for marketers. Our rapid pace of innovation in areas like AI, identity resolution, and multi-channel messaging has enabled us to drive revenue for leading companies.

2023 by the numbers:

 • Cordial received a score of 86.8 out of 90 for Best Places to Work.
 • Cordial delivered 369% ROI for a composite organization of Cordial clients, according to a Total Economic Impact™ study.
 • We launched 175 new product releases and enhancements.
 • 90+ Cordialites gathered for our annual Team Recharge.
 • We closed a record-breaking quarter with 134% new business growth.
 • Cordial was named a fastest-growing company in North America on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list for a 2nd consecutive year.
 • We celebrated Cordial’s 9th birthday with an annual tradition.
 • On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Cordial sent the highest number of messages in company history. YoY channel increases include 21.43% for email, 32.58% for SMS, and 66.98% for push notifications.
 • The Comparably Awards recognized Cordial with placements in 3 categories: Best CEO, Best Company Culture, and Best Companies for Women.
 • G2 awarded Cordial as a winner of 17 badges across 4 categories in their Winter 2024 reports.

In January, we announced our partnership with Snowflake to provide joint clients increased data agility to seamlessly access valuable first-party customer data from Cordial directly into their Snowflake Data Cloud through bi-directional data sharing.

After nearly six years as a strategic advisor, Matt Howland joined the Cordial executive leadership team as Chief Product & Engineering Officer. With more than a decade of leadership experience with organizations like CSC Generation, Loyalty Lab, Tibco, and Carta, Howland brings a deep understanding of scaling technology in step with customers and unlocking the value of data and messaging to transform brand loyalty.

We started February off strong at our annual Team Kickoff in San Diego, California. In Cordial’s remote work environment, it’s important that we come together in person and celebrate all our hard work from the past year, and share goals and aspirations for the upcoming year. This year, our theme was “No Fear” as we set out to fearlessly embrace challenges as a team.

In March, Cordial was awarded Best Places to Work by The Business Intelligence Group. By prioritizing employee engagement and promoting innovation and collaboration, we secured a nomination score of 86.8 out of 90 with feedback like, “Cordial is a fantastic place to work – best culture I have seen in over 15 years working. It doesn’t feel like a remote workplace because of the connectivity fostered from the top down.”

Cordial hosted an innovative “anti-booth” at Shoptalk, the ultimate gathering of retail’s top 10,000+ executives. We created an inviting and low-pressure space for attendees to sit and relax, play games, or connect.

In April, Cordial commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact™ study based on a composite organization of Cordial clients to examine the potential return on investment for enterprise businesses. The study found that Cordial delivered 369% ROI and a total benefit of $8.79 million over three years.

With more than 30 years of go-to-market (GTM) strategy and execution experience with leading organizations like Contentsquare, Percolate, and Tibco, Matt Elders joined Cordial in May, as Executive Vice President of Revenue. With expertise in building and leading world-class revenue teams, Elders has a proven track record of driving exceptional results for global software and services companies.

In June, we launched our Client Strategy Webinar Series featuring strategies and innovative ways to use the Cordial platform. Our first webinar was about acquiring more contacts and driving stronger initial engagements.

In July, we unveiled Identity+ to allow marketers to identify anonymous browsers across devices by matching them with a known customer profile. Once connected to a profile, marketers can leverage enriched data for more effective targeting, increased personalization, and improved ROI.

With how many of our team members wear their Cordial swag on Zoom calls and at events, we knew we had something special—so in August, we launched the Cordial Brand Store. Each item is a fun and unique way for our team to choose how they represent the Cordial brand.

We began unveiling our AI roadmap—transforming the future of marketing. Cordial AI is a set of tools providing marketers with generative, predictive, and prescriptive AI capabilities. This announcement marked the start of a series of groundbreaking AI innovations, each designed to drive outcomes and efficiencies for marketers.

To help manage our significant customer growth, Amy Jerusalmi joined Cordial as Chief Customer Officer. With more than 20 years of experience working for world-class companies such as Quattro Wireless, Apple, SessionM (a Mastercard company), and Reachdesk, Jerusalmi brings big-name credentials and a unique vision of how product and customer teams can collaborate to achieve a winning balance of company goals and client needs.

In September, 90+ Cordialites gathered for our annual Team Recharge in San Diego, California. It was inspiring to see our team connect and remind ourselves why Cordialites are truly second to none. We walked away feeling recharged, reenergized, and ready for 2024!

We released a modern refresh to the Cordial marketing platform. The new look introduced a fresh visual design that’s inviting and approachable for marketers to truly be creative and innovative—all without changing workflows that Cordial’s clients know and love. With the refresh, we aimed to inspire marketers to create fresh concepts and foster deeper, more meaningful connections with their customers.

We closed a record-breaking quarter with 134% new business growth. “Our unparalleled accomplishments in 2023 make one thing clear: We’re meeting the moment for marketers,” said Jeremy Swift, CEO and co-founder of Cordial. “While legacy marketing clouds have failed to innovate — requiring expensive add-ons for essentials like personalization, email triggers, SMS, testing, and identity resolution — our comprehensive, AI-enabled platform consolidates these critical capabilities, reducing complexity and costs and lifting revenue. And we’re not slowing down. For Cordial and the ambitious clients we serve, the best is yet to come.”

In November, Cordial was named one of the fastest-growing companies in North America on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list for a second consecutive year. We attribute this success to our rapid pace of innovation and the launch of intelligent products such as Cordial AI and Identity+: “Marketing clouds have hit a point of stagnation, leaving marketers to augment their tech stacks with multiple point solutions,” said Swift. “Our focus on innovation has been the driving factor to our success in helping companies deliver outsized results.”

In November, we celebrated Cordial’s 9th birthday with an annual tradition—each year we release a limited-edition tee. The artwork, created by a different independent artist for each birthday, embodies our brand and unites us all under one annual theme.

On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Cordial sent the highest number of messages in company history. We saw some incredible year-over-year increases across multiple channels:

 • Email: 21.43%
 • SMS: 32.58%
 • Push: 66.98%

In December, Cordial received 3 coveted awards from Comparably recognizing our executive leadership, company culture, and support for women in the workplace for companies with 500 employees or fewer.

 • Best CEO: Jeremy Swift was ranked 48th among the top 100 CEOs.
 • Best Company Culture: Cordial placed 33rd in the company culture category.
 • Best Company for Women: Cordial placed 31st among the best companies for women.

In their winter reports, G2 awarded Cordial as a winner of 17 badges across 4 categories: Marketing Automation, Mobile Marketing, Push Notifications, and Personalization Engines. Notable Winter 2024 badges were Momentum Leader, High Performer, Highest User Adoption, and Best Support.

Heading into 2024, we’re not slowing down and are well-positioned to help future-thinking organizations achieve outsized results. We are deeply grateful for the trust our clients place in us to drive meaningful business impact. By continuously innovating with products like Cordial AI, we will push boundaries to enable future-thinking companies to thrive. Our success is thanks to our talented team, partners, and clients. Stay tuned for continued record growth and innovations that redefine marketing.

Our intentional approach to culture-building includes manager and peer-to-peer recognition, unique team experiences, community service initiatives, and bi-annual in-person events to strengthen connections. These awards reflect our commitment to a values-based culture and validate that fast-moving companies can and should nurture their team members.

Everyone I work with is incredibly smart, but even better, they’re always willing to share & teach others, and to learn more themselves as well.”

Best Company for Women

Cordial is a winner of Comparably’s Best Company for Women 2023.

We foster an environment where women can thrive and feel supported. Here are just a few “Cordialite Spotlights” on some of the incredible women at Cordial:

 • “I really appreciate working with the incredibly talented team at Cordial and our clients, brands and marketers who are dedicated to delivering the most personalized messages.” —Christine M., Sales Director
 • “I love our people. Each person embodies our values, are experts in their fields, and are dedicated to the success of the client no matter the difficulty or size of the task at hand.” —Johanna C., Senior Software Quality Engineer
 • “I love our people. Each person embodies our values, are experts in their fields, and are dedicated to the success of the client no matter the difficulty or size of the task at hand.” —Amy M., Senior Client Success Manager
 • “The people pf Cordial are the main asset of the company, the reason I joined back in 2019, and the reason I know this company will keep making waves.” —Nicka K., UA Site Manager
 • “I love that I have the opportunity to learn new things all the time. I am constantly presented with opportunities to dive deeper into what the platform can do and create something cool for our clients.” —Amy S., Email Production Lead

By empowering our people, we have scaled exponentially while still feeling like a tight-knit community. From innovative perks to bi-annual team events, we’ve built a supportive and engaging environment amid rapid employee and customer expansion. As Cheryl Horner, our Director of People & Culture recently told Forbes, “For every year and every step that we grow, we can get creative and more strategic in creating a richer experience for our employees. At a growing company like Cordial, the tools in your toolbox grow every year.”

At Cordial, we build technology to help brands send a better message—and we build community through a shared commitment to our values: communication, ownership, tenacity, and kindness. We are honored by this recognition and will continue working to be a place where all employees feel valued, challenged, and proud to Be Cordial.

We are thrilled to share that Cordial has been named Organization of the Year in Business Intelligence Group’s 2022 Sales and Marketing Technology Awards program (also known as “The Sammys”). The Sammys honor not only technologies and services themselves, but also the people behind the tools and the organizations that support them.

Our vision

In a sea of martech options, Cordial stands out because it’s built differently. Our co-founders didn’t cobble together a platform from disparate point solutions or through a series of acquisitions, they anticipated the future and built what marketers and consumers would need to address meteoric ecommerce growth, channel multiplication, and exponentially increasing data collection—each of which has accelerated in the last two years.

Our technology

Our focus on helping marketers work smarter and more efficiently extends beyond the goal of sending personalized messages to customers quickly: we have a vision to inspire more thoughtful communication, both in how brands interact with their customers, and how technology companies work with brands. We built Cordial intentionally for sustainable growth, and unlike other customer engagement providers, our platform combines data management and marketing execution in one. Each and every day, we’re helping brands engage customers in more meaningful ways, sending the right message at the right time.

“Cordial is unbelievably flexible and an incredible partner. We’ve been able to achieve a deep level of personalization that simply wasn’t possible with our previous ESP making a huge impact on our business.”

Jennifer Fan, Director of Customer Retention, REVOLVE

Our clients

Innovative brands like L.L.Bean, Eddie Bauer, and Purple use our data-led platform and service-driven expertise. The Cordial team and technology together powers customer engagement and messaging for hundreds of brands, and with 97% customer retention since 2019. The usage of our platform has skyrocketed with 51% YoY email growth, 434% YoY SMS growth and 466% YoY mobile app growth.

In addition, our clients are seeing:

 • 78% reduction in campaign production time
 • A 20-fold increase in revenue per email
 • 30% increase in average order value
 • 50% increase in customer lifetime value
 • Up to a 400% increase in customer base

“We’ve reimagined our loyalty customer messaging strategy with Cordial. Using all of our data sources, we’re sending relevant messages to our most valuable customers, on a 1:1 basis, about the things they care about most. With this level of personalization, we’ve seen a major increase in engagement across the board.”

Angela Gow, Director, Digital Merchandising and Email, Eddie Bauer

Our people

Organization-wide, we live up to our name. We embrace it as a pillar of culture to guide our approach to client, partner, and employee relationships with Cordial. In the world of SaaS, some companies view service as merely a distraction from maximizing gross margin. At Cordial, we strongly prioritize the human side of marketing technology, and we’ve intentionally invested in a high level of white-glove service. Our team of experts are passionate about helping brands and marketers seamlessly migrate their data to Cordial’s platform, and unlock what’s possible with our technology’s capabilities. What’s more, we operate with a degree of kindness, authenticity, respect, and accountability that you’d learn to expect from a company called Cordial.

]]>
The marketing automation and customer engagement categories are going through a profound state of disruption. Marketers are seeking out advanced technology solutions that let them more simply use a vast amount of data to engage their customers. We founded Cordial with great intention, seeing this wave of change on the horizon and building for an era of data-driven customer engagement that is now here. In short, Cordial was uniquely architected to meet this moment in time.

Today’s news is tied to that wave of change. I’m thrilled to share that we’ve raised $50M in new capital, letting us accelerate our growth and help more enterprise businesses transform their customer engagement strategies.

Our focus has, and continues to be, building a company that endures—both through the culture and people that we invest in as well as in the technology that we’re building. Companies are built by people and, now more than ever, people want to love what they do, who they do it with, and why they do it. By prioritizing our people, we’ve built a strong team that is helping marketers boldly innovate. We also have some exciting announcements in the near future as we continue to build a best-in-class platform with unparalleled data management capabilities and orchestration tools. Our unique approach is helping global brands transform their marketing programs, giving them the power to know everything about their customers to communicate with them in more powerful ways. And we’re just getting started.

Accelerating our growth

This Series C is led by NewSpring Capital and I couldn’t be more thrilled about partnering with NewSpring’s Growth Partner, Brian Kim. Brian will be joining our board and he brings incredible expertise and insight as we enter this next phase of growth. NewSpring, along with ABS Capital join previous Cordial investors including High Alpha and Upfront Ventures and excel in partnering with high-growth companies to amplify their success. With this financing, Cordial continues on the path to becoming the leader in this category and reshaping what cross-channel engagement should be. Marketers have, for too long, been held back by limited technology and sub-par service approaches that have kept them from delivering the value to customers that they want to deliver. Cordial is changing what’s possible.

Our purposeful and measured approach to enduring growth isn’t going to change as we advance our position as the best customer engagement partner available to brands. We intend to use this capital to:

 • Continue our global expansion and further our goal of building the most data-driven customer engagement platform.
 • Launch new platform offerings including more robust cross-channel orchestration, additional first-party data solutions, and new platform enhancements that let us—and the companies we work with—deliver outsized results.
 • Further expand our team and strategic services model, investing in our best-in-class service offering that sets us apart from typical SaaS companies.

Tenacious about our clients

Creating client advocates has been and continues to be our North Star. We are honored to work with industry-leading brands like Eddie Bauer, REVOLVE, and Purple. Over the last year, we have added to our roster of clients with innovative companies like Virgin Voyages, JOANN, Boot Barn, and many, many more.

But it isn’t just who we have as clients that is a source of pride, it is the results we are able to drive for them. Our team celebrates with our clients when we move goalposts, for instance when:

 • REVOLVE delivers a 256x return on ad spend by orchestrating email, SMS/MMS, and Mobile App
 • Eddie Bauer drives a 7% increase in average order value and an 18 point higher conversion rate, while saving $500K by minimizing their tech stack

These are the types of successes that fuel our team, partnering with incredible people at amazing brands to create deeper connections with their customers and deliver significant results to their organizations while helping them further their careers.

Our tenacity about our clients is also evident in the strength of our business and world-class customer retention metrics, especially among enterprise and mid-market companies. Our clients don’t just stay when they come to Cordial, but they grow significantly. We deliver increasing value to our clients over time. We are truly witnessing a shift as more and more brands recognize what’s possible with modern solutions like Cordial and shift away from legacy platforms.

Guided by our vision, committed to our culture

I am extremely proud of the company and culture that we have built. My co-founders and I started Cordial with a goal of not only building a best-in-class platform for marketers, but we also aimed to build a company rooted in empathy and humanity. We founded Cordial to inspire more human connection and more thoughtful communication—between marketers and consumers, with our clients, and with our employees.

Two of Cordial’s values are to “communicate better than the rest” and to “be cordial.” These values are the cornerstone of our culture, influencing how we connect as a team at Cordial and guiding how we deliver for our customers. As we have grown, our commitment to these values has only deepened.

We have grown our employee base nearly 2x over the last year and will continue to expand around the world, while maintaining a fierce focus on ensuring that we stay true to our core values which are so important to who we are as a company.

Looking ahead

We are so very excited about what the future holds as companies realize the full business impact of data-centric cross-channel orchestration. We’re grateful to our team, our partners, our investors, and our amazing clients who are on this journey with us as we work to build a different type of business and culture. We wouldn’t be Cordial without you.

The many ways in which Cordial Cares https://cordial.com/resources/cordial-cares/ Tue, 31 May 2022 21:16:04 +0000 https://cordial.com/?p=11943 As our company grows, so do the things we care about—as an organization, a group...

As our company grows, so do the things we care about—as an organization, a group of people working and learning together, and as individuals in our own communities.

For a few years now, we’ve been fortunate to have a program to channel our philanthropic efforts and give back to our communities, Cordial Cares. We’ve helped thousands of people in many communities around the globe, and we’re so proud of the difference we have made.

As time went on, we began to recognize that philanthropy is not all we care about. We also care about diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). We care about our people and their well-being. And we care about the communities that our dispersed teams live and work in.

So we reimagined what Cordial Cares could be. We expanded the initiative from a volunteer-run philanthropy program to a company-wide Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program. Throughout the year, our team creates ways to focus on one of the Cordial Cares pillars (Community, DEI, Our People, and Well-Being), through employee-led Slack groups that encourage deeper conversations, exchange of ideas, and action—and company-sponsored People and Culture initiatives to make Cordial the absolute best place to work.

Cordial Cares about community, providing tailored philanthropic opportunities, as well as ways for Cordial to contribute to a thriving community in all of the places where Cordial employees reside. Since our living situations all look different, we feel it’s important for each team member to give back to whatever community they call home.

 • At our annual Team Kick Off in San Diego, Team Cordial came together in person to support the San Diego Rescue Mission. We wrote encouragement cards for women and children staying at Nueva Vida Haven, an emergency shelter in San Diego), assembled hygiene kits from essential items, and created no-sew fleece blankets that were distributed to those in the local community who needed them most.
 • On Random Acts of Kindness Day, the Cordial team got creative in showing their thoughtfulness and cordiality. From bringing treats to first responders and teachers, to leaving extra generous tips, to donating meals to those in dire need, the Cordial team contributed to our communities at large from San Diego to Ukraine.

Cordial Cares about diversity, equity, and inclusion, which celebrates our differences and creates an inclusive workplace. Our team of volunteers (the “DEI Champs”) organize quarterly training sessions that feature external speakers and coaches, in addition to facilitating company-wide discussions on topics centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion.

 • Our shift to a remote work model created an opportunity to reach a more diverse range of job applicants outside our San Diego headquarters, and our growth continues.
 • This month, we gathered on Zoom to discuss 3 ways to be a better ally in the workplace, and to hold space for the mentally and emotionally taxing current events in the United States.
 • In June, for Pride Month, we’re honoring the LGBTQIA+ community by showing our support on social media, and celebrating our team with inclusive Cordial Cares swag.

Cordial Cares about our people. We put our people at the center of our culture. From competitive compensation to employee rewards to continuing education and childcare reimbursement, we know our strengths lie within tenacious humans that make Cordial, cordial.

 • We recently rolled out Blueboard, a way for managers to reward employees with curated and meaningful experiences, wherever they live. Our employees work hard and we want to ensure that they play (or rest, spa days are popular) hard too!
 • We want to be absolutely clear about where our employees’ careers can go so we use a leveling framework to create a roadmap should employees want to move as far ahead as possible. We are a growing industry leader and want our employees to grow with us.

Cordial Cares about well-being. Healthcare benefits, a flexible work environment, wellness allowances, and challenges, making mental health a priority—this ever-expanding list of benefits and initiatives anchors employee well-being as a core part of our Cordial Cares program.

 • In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month (May), we focused our efforts on supporting the mental, physical, and emotional health of our dispersed team. We took a company-wide day off on May 13, and encouraged Team Cordial to do something in support of their well-being
 • During our Team Kick Off earlier this year, we partnered with Diversio to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on team engagement, to examine how mental health stigma is perpetuated in workplace culture and policies, and to look at mental health through an intersectional lens.

We’re proud of the progress we’re making, but there are endless causes and topics to care about. We hope that by focusing on giving back our communities, improving our diversity and inclusiveness, supporting our people, and promoting our collective well-being, that we’ll create a positive impact for those within the Cordial network, and inspire others to #becordial too.

When we founded Cordial, we began with a set of values that guide our work, including a focus on “being Cordial” through every interaction. This commitment to human connection is core to how we built our platform. Our founding intent was to facilitate real, personal connections between brands and customers—and to make it easier for marketers to orchestrate campaigns and use all of their data to create those 1:1 connections. Simply put, we felt it should be easier for marketers to send messages that customers love.

This week, Cordial was named a Strong Performer in The Forrester Wave™: Email Marketing Service Providers, Q1 2022, receiving the highest scores possible in six criteria, including campaign orchestration, data integration, dynamic content, and product vision. We are certainly proud that Forrester has, in our opinion, recognized both the strengths of our offering, as well as our unique vision for what email marketing can and should be.

“Cordial’s culture and current offering are its strongest assets.”

–The Forrester Wave™: Email Marketing Service Providers, Q1 2022

As I recently shared with Total Retail last month, email is, indeed, having a moment. Email remains a critical communication channel, especially when used in tandem with other channels including SMS and mobile push. But email marketers today need to be able to get more out of their marketing to connect with incredible precision and detail. Without the ability to incorporate dynamic content, contextual cues, and other business data, both brands and their customers miss out.

Consumers expect better experiences with real-time insight into what they need. And the very nature of email has evolved with these changing expectations—as have marketing platforms. Next-generation platforms, like Cordial, were created to support the incredible amounts of data brands need in order to communicate with customers in the relevant, personal ways they expect.

“Cordial is the only platform we found that allows us to truly take advantage of all of our data. From our very first interaction with a user, we are able to send customized messages based on their interests… And as their interests shift, our messages shift with them – automatically.” – Lauren Purcell, Senior Marketing Manager at Ancient Nutrition

“Retailers that want a fresh approach to real-time triggers or event-based messaging will like Cordial on their vendor shortlist.”

I believe we are also witnessing another changing of the guard with email marketing service providers. Many legacy email service providers (ESPs), such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe, and Oracle’s Responsys, were not built to leverage the vast quantities of data available today—let alone in real time. Now, a new wave of cross-channel marketing technology providers allow brands to unlock their potential in new and exciting ways. Cordial, for example, is a marketing platform designed with core customer data platform capabilities that let marketers enhance, transform, and use their first- and zero-party data in real time to orchestrate complex customer journeys—something that other ESPs were simply not built for. Given the changing needs of marketers and what is now possible with data integration and advanced campaign orchestration, we expect all leading enterprise brands to shift away from legacy providers, if they haven’t already, and embrace the new wave of platforms that can better meet those needs.

“Incredible platform and incredible service…We are able to pull any data from our data warehouse to use for segmentation and personalization, something we weren’t able to do before.” – Ciera Bullock, Email and Automation Manager at Purple

Our vision has always been to build technology for brands to foster more authentic connections with their customers and to inspire more thoughtful communication overall. We are thrilled that we are being recognized for that vision, and for how we are bringing that vision to life. We are also honored to work with an incredible roster of clients who chose Cordial as their partner to help them take their email and cross-channel programs forward in bold ways—and we’re excited to work with more innovative brands as the market shifts toward data-first providers like Cordial. We could not be more energized to be leading the charge reimagining the email marketing landscape, and beyond.

Since we founded Cordial seven years ago, I can’t recall a period with more remarkable growth and change than we have experienced in the last year. In a great many ways, 2021 was a standout, from our business acceleration to the innovations we brought to market. As we near the end of the year, I find myself incredibly excited about all the possibilities that lie ahead in 2022, but also reflective on the strides forward we made together with our clients over the past year.

First, we expanded our elite roster of clients, adding incredible brands such as Buzzfeed, Virgin Voyages, L.L.Bean, Boot Barn, and Adore Me among many others. We often say that Cordial is for customer-obsessed brands and, increasingly, innovative marketers are turning to Cordial to modernize their cross-channel programs and create best-in-class customer experiences. Similarly, I am incredibly proud of the fact that we maintained a 96% client retention rate over the last year, due in large part to our incredible Client Success team who customize solutions for each client and partner with them to ensure they are creating the most valuable experiences for their businesses and customers.

Our dedication to our clients’ success is also reflected in the performance growth we have experienced over the last year. Accordingly, in 2021, we achieved year-over-year email growth of 51%, SMS / MMS growth of 434%, and mobile app growth of 466%. Our clients are seeing incredible returns from engaging in a unified cross-channel way and we are proud to partner with them to increasingly orchestrate revenue-driving experiences across all channels.

We have also continued to innovate in bold ways over the last year, launching many enhancements to the Cordial platform throughout 2021. With the recent launch of Architect, Cordial clients now benefit from the ability to transform imported and exported data without an external tool or data platform, ultimately making data more powerful and creating new possibilities for custom modeling. The impact is incredible. Architect drives, on average, 2x higher revenue per message (RPM) across email, SMS/MMS, push notifications, mobile app, and other digital marketing channels, and 3x improvement in RPM for triggered marketing messages. Perhaps not surprisingly, we have seen a 553% growth in Architect usage, underscoring how valuable our clients find this new data management and modeling tool.

Beyond our platform enhancements, Cordial also announced a landmark partner agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS), becoming the first cross-channel marketing platform in the Digital Customer Experience category in the AWS Marketplace, expanding access and awareness in significant ways.

Cordial also continues to bring leading-edge thinking and insights to our clients. In September, we launched the first Cordial Cross-Channel Marketing Study, sharing fresh research and benchmarks that were featured in media ranging from Forbes to Nasdaq. We are also pleased to share that we have been included in Forrester’s Now Tech: email marketing vendors, Q4 2021, which provides an overview of 38 Email Marketing providers.

In thinking about the past year though it is the growth of the Cordial team that is most exciting to me. We grew the Cordial team nearly 50% in 2021 and expanded our executive team, adding industry veterans with subject matter expertise in the digital marketing and retail sectors, and impressive track records growing and scaling both start up and enterprise organizations. Former General Manager of Experian Cheetahmail, Rachel Bergman, became Cordial’s first chief revenue officer in May. Carrie Parker, with past experience scaling marketing operations at American Express, Kantar, and Valassis joined as senior vice president of marketing in September. And award-winning retail leader Emily Culp became the company’s first outside Board Member in October.

Ultimately, I am honored to be leading this team and thrilled with how Cordial has grown and expanded in the last year—all the while enhancing our amazing culture, staying true to Cordial’s values, and remaining steadfast in our goal to create better experiences for our clients and their customers. The world’s most forward-thinking brands continue to validate our unique vision for the future of cross-channel marketing, and with tremendous tailwinds behind us and a host of innovations coming out in the months ahead, we are in a stronger position than ever to further accelerate our mission to help marketers send better messages.

While I am incredibly grateful to be able to reflect on these achievements and excited to kick off what will be another standout year in 2022, for now, I want to wish everyone in our network a wonderful—and very cordial—remainder of the holiday season and a happy new year.

Jeremy
